Who we are, what the service does, and how to reach us.

Clear records. Confident decisions.

Auto Prime works with Japanese vehicles every day. We believe that choosing a car should be a confident decision, and that confidence comes from seeing the facts for yourself.

Every vehicle sold at auction in Japan is examined by the auction house's inspector on the day of the sale. The inspector grades the vehicle, records its mileage and notes its condition on an auction sheet. It is the record the Japanese auction trade itself relies on.

True Report is the Auto Prime Auction Sheet Verification Service, and it is how we bring that record to you. Enter a chassis number, and we deliver the original auction record for that exact vehicle, as the auction house issued it, with every mark explained in plain English.

Who we serve

  • Buyers, who want to see a vehicle's recorded history before they decide.
  • Sellers and dealers, who want to give their customers a record they can rely on.
  • Banks and insurers, who want to see the same record the customer sees.

Premium Cars. Prime Experience. That is the standard we work to, and True Report is part of how we keep it.

What you receive

  • The original auction sheet, scanned, exactly as the auction house issued it.
  • The auction grade, the exterior and interior grades and the mileage recorded at auction, where the auction house provides them.
  • The inspector's photographs, where the auction house provides them.
  • An English explanation of every mark on the sheet.
  • A private link to your report, sent to your email address. Read it online, and download it as a PDF to keep.

What a report contains depends on the auction house. Some records come with many photographs, and some with only the auction sheet, so we cannot promise photographs or any particular detail. The PDF shows a few of the photographs; all of them are on the report page.

How it works

  1. Search for free. Enter the chassis number. We tell you whether an auction record exists for that exact chassis.
  2. Pay online. By card, mobile banking or internet banking, through a licensed payment gateway.
  3. Get the report. Within minutes if we already hold the sheet. If it has to be retrieved from Japan, within 3 hours during office hours (11:00 am to 12:00 am, Sunday to Thursday).

What we stand behind

  • Exact match only. We never sell a record for a similar chassis. If your exact chassis is not found, nothing is charged, unless you choose to order Prime Manual Retrieval, a search by hand.
  • Nothing altered. The sheet is delivered as issued. We do not edit, retype or summarise it.
  • Delivered, or refunded. If your report is not delivered within 72 hours of your payment (5 working days for Prime Manual Retrieval), you are refunded in full. The rules are in our Refund Policy.

What the report is not

The report is the record of the vehicle on the day it was auctioned in Japan. It is not an inspection of the vehicle as it is today, not a valuation, and not advice to buy. The full terms are in our Terms & Conditions.
